Yes, that’s right, prostate cancer!

Researchers from the university of Utah and Columbia medical schools have found a virus within malignant prostate cancer cells that is already known to cause other cancers.  The virus is identified as XMRV.  (Xenotropic murine leukemia virus-relatedvirus). Yes, it’s quite a mouthful.

About 27% of examined prostate cancers were found to have the virus, with a greater association to the more aggressive tumors. Being that prostate cancer is the second most common cause of cancer, this is a very significant find.

More research is being conducted to see if it is actually the cause of the cancer or if it just takes advantage of and exacerbates the cancer growth.

Seems though, we have a trend forming here with the discovery of viral related cancers.

This actually provides new hope of creating vaccines for the future as well as a whole range of less invasive treatments.

The other report, issued by Englands version of the FDA, the FSA (Food Standards Agency) concluded that Organic Food has no more nutritional content than conventional food…. well, not enough of a difference to be signifigant enough to say that Organic Food is more nutritious than conventional although it is.  Wierd.

So there you have it, Organic food is not going to kill you with pesticide residue, and it is slightly (but not much) more nutritious.
